the Fog Suite paintings
On the surface it might seem unseasonal for me to present fog paintings in the middle of bright sparkly hard-edged summer, but if you consider fog as metaphor for visible uncertainty, I’m sending these into the world right on time.
Shroud and veil, pearly glaze and smudged sketch, cloudy ivory and damp scarves, sunlight filtered through the atmosphere, defiant otherness and glorious trouble: the poetry of fog courtesy Mark Doty and his ‘fog suite’ poem.
