I have been slowing moving my painting style in the direction of being more confident, bold and expressive; especially with my stroke and paint application. Although a painting now and then moves back to the layered and massaged and carefully executed surfaces of old, some of the newer work is getting its groove on. Because my mind is focused on the technique, the palette and composition and subject matter are quite similar from painting to painting. I’m calling this series the seeking series, not only because of the act of moving from here to there in my style, but also because the physical space of where I’ll be working and how I’ll be spending my time is also in transition. I sense a new movement and energy coming into me and my work–how exciting.
