Little Squalicum Beach Clouds

My children and I took advantage of the great weather in the Pacific NW last week and rode our bikes to the beach one sunny afternoon. Ian wanted to check out the status of the driftwood tree house, Chloe wanted to float her bark boat and I wanted to stare at the clouds. They were amazing. Back at my studio armed with an iphone shot of the sky I went to work. Of course, the colors in my painting are from my imagination and even more vibrant than shown in the photograph at left. Not sure that it qualifies as a study, except that is how I’m thinking of these cloud paintings at this time. Sky Study 5/4/2010, 24×24, oil on canvas.
