I find myself painting storm clouds and raging seas and titling these recent works with words like untethered and seeking…wonder why? Is the personal really the universal and does this matter to anyone? Do we all sense loss of control and a secret desire to just let it all go? Maybe it’s just the host of uncertainty staring me in the face–which can be quite scary and exhilarating all at once, to be honest. Sheri saw some of my newest works and commented that I was painting nature’s energy…I think she’s right on here.
